This next version of Adele comes with the feature “filtering”. Some small changes are made for JDBC compatibility. Now it is possible to connect to SAP HANA via the JDBC driver (ngdbc.jar).
Inspired by the usage of MS Excel “auto filter” I’ve decided to do filtering without the possible complexity. Everybody using a spreadsheet application like Excel knows the autofilter functionality and it is completely adequate for the daily business.
Every Adele dataset (= extracted or imported data) can be filtered with the same philosophy. Say what values should be kept, the others will be hidden. Additionally rows can be selected and filtered too. The user can decide to keep or hide selected rows. Both filter (on rows and on colums) are working together.
The builtin graphical analysis, the doublette finder and other plugin functionality respect an active filter and should display different results. With this functionality a new powerful technology is born to evaluate large lists of data and merge the results together.
In the next release some fixes are expected to get the stability after this large modification to the dataset handling. The OLAP tool is in the Top5 now and the datasource area (remote data) will be enhanced with a scatter chart functionality to see some correlations before you have to extract the data.
