A new version of the JDBC driver for SAP NetWeaver based systems was released at the sourceforge project site.
This update fixes some bugs regarding integer based data types. With this version the SQL aggregate functions SUM, AVG, MIN, MAX and COUNT can be used within SQL statements. Other common aggregate function are not supported by the SAP Open SQL API and will not be usable with the driver.
This version introduces an new Interface API to get access to other API functions like described in the jdbc standard. A typical usecase could be: get access to the SAP JCO API to call a BAPI/RFC function. This scenario is planned for the next version. In future releases this interface mechanism could be used to allow write access to the SAP system via SQL/JDBC commands.
